Oklahoma Heritage Center

The history of Oklahoma Heritage Center, dated back to 1927 when this famous Association of Okhlahoma was founded by Anna B. Korn. The Hall of Fame was established simultaneously to honor the outstanding Oklahomans who offered special services to the city. The association founded by Anna B Korn changed its name into Oklahoma Heritage Center in the year 1961. A big house was donated to the organization by the Henfer family for the display of the busts and pictures of the heroes of the Hall of fame.

Oklahoma Heritage Center opened its door to the public in the year 1971 and the first Garden Party of Oklahoma was held at the center in the same year.

This tradition is still in practice. The annual ceremony was held by the association to felicitate the individuals who have played significant role in the preservation of historical traits of Oklahoma.



Activities of Oklahoma Heritage Center: As a part of its role in preserving the history and heritage of the Oklahoma the center educates the students of the city about the rich history of the city and also of the state. The center also honors the men and women who have got outstanding role in the preservation of the history of Oklahoma. The association every year offers more than $400,000 as scholarships to the students of high schools of Oklahoma. The association also offers financial helps to the persons engaged in academic studies in Oklahoma. Every year the association organizes the heritage week competition which allows students of the schools of Oklahoma to take part and win cash prizes by giving right answers of the quiz contest on the city.

Publication of Oklahoma Heritage Center: The center has so far published more than 100 books on the history of the Oklahoma.

Membership of Oklahoma Heritage Center: The association offers various kinds of membership which include centennial membership ( $100 per year), sponsor membership, ( $250 per year), pioneer membership ($500 per year) and also the regular membership. ($100 per year)
