Amongst a lot of attractions at Oklahoma pay a visit to the magnificent Governor’s Mansion. The Governor’s Mansion is a Dutch Colonial mansion, which also bears a great architectural elegance. In the Governor’s Mansion you can see a room, which is called Oklahoma room, which bears a carpet with state seal. The inside dining area of the Governor’s Mansion is not so spacious and can occupy only sixty people for dinner. For this reason a separate large pavilion has been added to the ground of Governor’s Mansion. This is called Phillips Pavilion, which is used for holding larger parties.
While visiting Governor’s Mansion, Oklahoma you can peep into the gift shop, which is located in the new pavilion. The gift shop at Governor’s Mansion keeps some wonderful collection of souvenirs and some typical Oklahoma items.
Oklahoma Governor’s Mansion is nestled one block east of the Oklahoma State Capitol. This Dutch Colonial styled mansion was designed by the famous architects Layton, Forsyth and Hicks. They had designed the Oklahoma Capitol. This is a magnificent three-story residence. White Indiana Carthage limestone has been used for the shell of the mansion and basement. It has red tiled roof and twin chimneys on the top. The construction of Governor’s Mansion started in the year 1927.
